“Day Fifteen”

10/15/2018                                   Elder Leon Sabbs

Father God, help us to set up the guards to “Watch” over the doorways!

(Nehemiah 7: 1-4)

Father God in the Name of Jesus, we thank You for another day. Thank You for bringing us into another year of learning more about You. We thank You for calling us into Your Kingdom, where there is hope. Father God, You are so good to us. Lord we don’t want to take Your Longsuffering, Mercifulness, Graciousness, Compassion, Spirit of Love, and Joy for granted in this violent world. Father God, cause the Spirit of Thanksgiving to always be a part of our life. Father, You still given us time to confess all our sins, secret sin and repent. Lord, You can destroy us anytime You want. Lord, as I laid up on this operating table, You could had ended my life. My remembrance would had been like a picture hanging on the wall. But Lord, You gave me another chance to repent, thank You Jesus! I was thinking about my family, little Malachi and Bryden. But Lord, You kept my heart beating, blood flowing through my veins, thank You Jesus. You had the Saints praying for me and You placed a good doctor over me, and Lord, You used him. Thank You Jesus!

Nehemiah 7: 1-14

1 Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed, 2 That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he was a faithful man, and feared God above many. 3 And I said unto them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun be hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar them: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one to be over against his house. 4 Now the city was large and great: but the people were few therein, and the houses were not builded.

Father God, we come together to fast and pray. Help us to set up the guards to Watch over the doorways. First, give us a clean heart, like You gave our brother Nehemiah. Let us be on one accord at Abundant Grace Apostolic Pentecostal Church. I understand what guard duty mean, when I was on active duty down in Pine Bluff. We had to guard the Arsenal. Also, guard means to protect, shield from harm, to defend, and take precaution to keep the enemy out the doorway gate.

Father God, we ask that You will place guards that would be faithful and have the fear of God in their heart. Nehemiah had faithful men around him to be able to set the children of Israel in a protected place. The people were willing and dedicated to the plan God had placed in Nehemiah’s heart to restore the walls and gates. Likewise, we have the same mind of the guards.

We ask these things in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
