“Day Twenty”

10/20/2018                                            Sister Tamera Joy Malone

Father God, give Your people the “SAME Grief” as Nehemiah had about Tobiah in the Temple!

(Nehemiah 13: 4-9)

Father God, in the Name of Jesus! Lord, it is with an humble heart that I come before You this day. Thanking You for so many things You have done in my life and especially during this 30 days of fasting and praying. Father, You have blessed me beyond what I could possibly have imagined and I am more than grateful because I know how undeserving I am of Your Grace and Mercy. Yet, You still continue to love me, care for me, provide for me, and bless me beyond measure.

Father God, this day I ask that You give me contrite heart. Forgive me Lord for things I have knowingly and unknowingly done against You and walking contrary to the Word of God. Father, I am asking for Godly sorrow so that I may never turn back to the ways of old that can and will keep me from seeing You when the time comes for me to close my eyes on this earth. Lord, I want to be saved from this wicked world! Everyday, I see how filthy and wretched this world is and things of this world change from day to day. But You, Oh Lord, are the same God yesterday, today, and forever more. Your Word remains the same and I thank You Lord for being consistent.

Nehemiah 13:4-9

4. And before this, Eliashab the priest, having the oversight of the chamber of the house of our God, was allied unto Tobiah:

5.And he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.

6. But in all this time was not I at Jerusalem: for in the two and thirtieth year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon came I unto the king, and after certain days obtained I leave of the king:

7. And I came to Jerusalem, and understood of the evil that Eliashib did for Tobiah, in preparing him a chamber in the courts of the house of God.

8. And it grieved me sore: therefore I cast forth all the household stuff to Tobiah out of the chamber.

9. Then I commanded, and they cleansed the chambers: and thither brought I again the vessels of the house of God, with the meat offering and frankincense.

Father God! When we see things that are going on in the church that we KNOW are against You, let it grieve us the same way Nehemiah was grieved when Tobiah was in the temple. Let it grieve us to the point where we take action and do what we know is right to stop any wickedness going on against the church, the Pastor, and ultimately You, Lord!

Father, it is shown that Eliashib was appointed to oversee the chamber and yet did a great evil in the house of God by allowing Tobiah come in and preparing for him a great chamber where they praised him with many gifts, tithes, and offerings after it was commanded them to give to the Levites. Lord, let us not go against You and praise any man which such things as this after we are told to do otherwise! John 14:15 says If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Father God! Help us, Your people to not ever go against You in anyway. Just like Eliashib was appointed to do a specific task, You have appointed, called, and chosen many of us to fulfill certain duties in the church. With those duties, we are held responsible for up keeping and up holding the standards that come with them. Let us not bend the rules or take it upon ourselves to delegate or decide what should be done in Your Kingdom as opposed to the rules and commandments that are already set in place.

Father God, in closing, continue to give us more Holy Ghost that we may walk in wisdom and have a discerning spirit for all things in You! And, give us more Holy Ghost so that we know immediately what should be thrown out just as Nehemiah cast all Tobiah’s household stuff out of the chamber. In Jesus Name! Amen and Amen.
