“Day Nine”

10/09/2018                                                                                                       Elder Delois Murphy

Father God, help us to “pray for the brethren in distress”

(Nehemiah 1: 4-11)

Father God, I come before You, asking You to purge my mind of all uncleanness Right Now!! I want to be clean and purified when I come before You asking earnestly to accept this, my prayer O’ God in the Name of Jesus, Help us to pray for the brethren in distress.

Father God, we have come to understand that Distress is extreme pain mental or physical: it is to cause pain or anguish to, suffering: it’s a very painful situation; severe strain; a state of danger or desperate need.

Nehemiah 1: 4-7 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven. 5 And said, I beseech thee, O Lord God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments. 6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee; both I and my father’s house have sinned. 7 We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandest thy servant Moses.

Father God, as I began to read Nehemiah, I began to cry also: I felt as he felt. Now I am praying this prayer, help us as Your people to pray for the distress, afflictions, pain and suffering of the brethren.  Help us to pray earnestly from the Heart.  We need You Jesus! Without You we are nothing, help us to pray always without ceasing.  And, while we are on this fast, cause us to cry out for the distress of our brethren.

Nehemiah 1: 8-11_ Remember, I beseech thee, the word that thou commandest thy servant Moses, saying, If ye transgress, I will scatter you abroad among the nations:  9 But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I gather them from thence and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there. 10 Now these are thy servants and thy people, whom thou hast redeemed by thy great power, and by thy strong hand.  11 O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name and prosper. I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man, For I was the kings cupbearer.

Father God, forgive us for our transgressions. Some of us have been scattered abroad unto many places. Turn us again unto Thee and help us to keep Thy Commandment; that we stay in the church that is called by Your Name “Jesus”! We are troubled on every side.

Lord, our brethren are in distress in their homes, on their jobs, mentally anguished in their finances, and in their business. They are paining and suffering in sicknesses, marriages are troubled, homes are being broken and taken. Help Us O’ Lord God!! The brethren are being carried away in mind and body by many things.

Lord, give us the steadfastness, hope, and trust in You, so that nothing will be able to separate us from Your Love, No! not even distress;

Romans 8: 35-37 saysWho shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36  As it is written for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Hallelujah!! Thank You Jesus!!

Finally Father God, Put Your Fear within us. In the Name of Jesus! And cause us to prosper and be in good health. Let mercy and favor be given us in the sight of man.

I ask all these things in the Name of Jesus, Amen!!
