“Day Ten”

10/10/2018                                                                                                  Brother Gabriel Sabbs

Father God, give us an “Artaxerxes” who will help to stop the enemy by letter!”

(Nehemiah 2: 1-11)

Father God in the Name of Jesus, Your Name is Great and Excellent. Your Name is so Perfect and Powerful that when men and women come in Your Name, it is to perform a perfect work. For that, I will praise You and say, “thank You Jesus!”

Father God, forgive me for all my sins and iniquities; purge me from the sin that doest so easily beset me and purge me from secret sins and faults that would prevent me from receiving any of Your Blessings and Mercy.

Nehemiah 2:1-3

1 And it came to pass in the month Nisan, in the twentieth year of Artaxerxes the king, that wine was before him: and I took up the wine, and gave it unto the king. Now I had not been beforetime sad in his presence. 2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid, 3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?

Father God, we are gathered together in prayer, because we have some rebuilding to do here at Abundant Grace Apostolic Pentecostal Church. We have some restoring to do. We have some breached gates that need rebuilding, areas that were consumed by fire that need to be revitalized, and penetrated walls that need to be resealed. As Nehemiah was saddened by what was become of Israel laying in ruin, I’m saddened by what has become to my brethren and those that lay in ruin.

Nehemiah 2:4-6

4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven. 5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it. 6 And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.

Father God, I understand that everything under heaven has an appointed time, and that no man knows the length of time appointed to him in any matter but You. Only You know the journey and length of time it will take for the sanctuary to be completed, and only You know the journey and length of time it will take for some brethren to return to You. If we have found favour in Thy Sight, if we presented treasure before You in our works, if there be any virtue in Your people; Lord, grant us a space in time to complete the sanctuary and for our wondering brethren to return. Enlarge our hearts with wisdom at this granted time. When You grant Your people this short space, cause us to move quickly! Knock down the cobwebs, repair the breaches, replace the rotten wood, lay fresh concrete and cement in the right measure, plant the right seeds in fertile soil and be watchmen over the garden, send down fresh oil and unite the children back to their parents. In Jesus Name! Amen!! Alleluia!!!

Nehemiah 2:7-12

7 Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah; 8 And a letter unto Asaph the keeper of the king’s forest, that he may give me timber to make beams for the gates of the palace which appertained to the house, and for the wall of the city, and for the house that I shall enter into. And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. 9 Then I came to the governors beyond the river, and gave them the king’s letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army and horsemen with me. 10 When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel. 11 So I came to Jerusalem, and was there three days. 12And I arose in the night, I and some few men with me; neither told I any man what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem: neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon.

Father God, as the title of the prayer states, “give us an Artaxerxes who will help to stop the enemy by letter.” That is to say, there are governors, bankers, judges, men and women, democrats and republicans, other officials, those that are a part of the brethren, and those that are not that You can put in place that can guarantee by letter (or important documents, decrees, and laws), that the building of the sanctuary will be complete and will stop the enemies of the church. Father God, cause our Artaxerxes to rise in power, prepare his, her, or their heart to be perfect and excellent towards Your people in accomplishing Your Will! Father God, give us discernment to know who is for us and those that are against us. Also, give us the knowledge, wisdom, and the right words that we need to interact with our Artaxerxes.

We have enemies that sit in high places, that can deny grants, raise the prices of building materials, work wickedly through legislation, and cause confusion amongst the brethren. Lord, we beseech You by Your Mercy and for Your Name sake to put a stop to our Sanballats’ and Tobiahs,’ allow them to fall by their own wicked devices and the evil imaginations of their hearts. Let our enemies not have a clue to what You placed in our hearts to accomplish. And if they try to get over on us, send Your captains of the army and horsemen with us. That is to say, send us officials that will see to it that the letters (or important documents, decrees, and laws) are obeyed.

We ask these things in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ! Amen and Amen!!!
